Hi, I’m Danny Thompson, a freelance copywriter who specializes in working with ad agencies, marketing firms and web studios.

“What the… a copywriter who specializes in ad agencies and marketing firms? What does that even mean?”

I know, I know. You’re thinking that that sounds like a sneaky way to sell being a generalist, not a specialist, right? Well it’s not. Here’s why:

I understand.

I understand the client MUST see some ideas before lunch tomorrow (it’s URGENT!), but probably won’t return edits for five weeks. I understand you’d like to see four or five concepts before picking a direction. I understand the outdoor was great, but now we need the concept to work for radio, instead.

Even better, I’m okay with that.

I love the agency business. I have since my first day in an agency more than six years ago. There’s just something about juggling 7 projects for 5 different clients, with insane deadlines approaching rapidly from behind that just makes the work that much better. And that just gets us through Wednesday.

And Now…

Today, as a freelancer, the only thing better than working in an agency, is working with several different agencies. It’s the same bizarre mix of media, industries and personalities that makes agency work so interesting, multiplied exponentially.

I help agencies who either need an extra pen around the office, but can’t justify bringing someone in full-time, or those who have full-time folks, but need a hand to pick up the slack when things go from insane to absolutely ridiculous. If you’re in either of those positions, give me a call at 205.451.2853, or shoot me an e-mail.

I’m here at the computer waiting.
